Racing Safety & Cockpit Equipment — Volpiano, Italy

Sparco

Sparco was started in 1977 in Turin, Italy, by racing drivers who wanted to make the sport they competed in safer — and to make safety equipment that looked like it belonged in a race car. The company still designs and manufactures from its headquarters in Volpiano, just outside Turin, with Sparco USA operating out of California. Sparco engineers both halves of the cockpit: what the driver sits in and what the driver wears. In 1998 it built the first adjustable carbon fiber supercar seat in the world, for the Lamborghini Diablo. Its QRT family — QRT, QRT-R and QRT-C — uses Quick Release Technology construction to cut seat weight without giving up shell stiffness. Beyond the car itself Sparco covers karting, off-road and sim racing, and runs official collaboration collections with Martini Racing, Gulf, Ford Performance, Red Bull Racing, M-Sport, Lancia HF and Targa Florio.
