Ford-style solenoid is perfect for use with high torque racing starters. Flat base eases mounting, and a remote under-hood starter switch or timing light hook-up can be easily adapted. Solenoid is offered separately, or may be ordered with installation kit (ALL76202), that includes wiring, terminals and hardware. A starter solenoid is a crucial component in a vehicle's starting system that activates the starter motor. It's normally located near the battery or on the starter motor and connected to both via electrical cables. The solenoid engages an internal switch when the ignition key is turned, which in turn activates the starter motor to crank the engine and start the vehicle. The starter solenoid acts as a relay between the battery and the starter motor, allowing a high amperage current to be sent to the motor. Without a functioning solenoid, the starter motor won't receive the necessary current to start the engine. Over time, starter solenoids can become worn or damaged, leading to starting issues. Allstar Performance warrants each new product to be free from defects in both workmanship and materials for ninety (90) days from the date of purchase. To make a claim, the product may be returned to the dealer it was purchased from, or shipped directly to Allstar Performance with proof of purchase and a complete description of the problem. The product must be returned freight pre-paid — CODs are not accepted. No part will be reviewed for inspection if modifications have been made. If the part is found defective on inspection, it will be replaced or a refund check issued. Allstar Performance also states that its products are designed for off-road use and that it makes no written, oral, expressed or implied statement of warranty or guarantee on any product sold, and it does not assume liability for personal or property damage resulting from the use or misuse of any product it manufactures or sells.
