Fits vehicles WITHOUT Ground Effects Package (GFX). This 2.5" diameter Axle-Back system features single 4.5" polished T-304 stainless steel tips on each muffler assembly. BORLA® has developed a revolutionary exhaust technology that enables our engineers to deliver unprecedented vehicle-specific control over the acoustical note of an exhaust throughout the RPM range, while retaining 100% of the power-adding capabilities of BORLA®'S patented multicore design.
Called ATAK® (Acoustically-Tuned Applied Kinetics), this technology produces the highest available dB (decibel) levels in the BORLA® street-legal lineup, and is designed for high-performance purists who prefer exhaust notes over their stereos. The focus of ATAK is to pump the volume while retaining clarity of sound, avoiding distortion typically found in louder exhausts. With ATAK®. the sound output is tuned like a graphic equalizer to shape and focus sound waves for optimum high-volume output.
The technology is based on custom-tuned attributes of the internal muffler cores, which are calibrated on a vehicle-by-vehicle basis to deliver the most desirable sound.
"The distance from the exhaust manifold to the rear bumper, the shape of the underbody shielding, the amount of ground clearance, all these factors affect the sound, and they‘re different on each vehicle. With ATAK® we take all this into account, and the result will blow you away," says company VP of Sales & Marketing, David Borla.
The Axle-Back systems retain the stock front muffler so the full effect of the ATAK® sound is not realized, but they are still louder than the S-Type. By adding BORLA® X-Pipe with Mid-Pipes part number 60512 you can create a Cat-Back™ system for your Camaro. Like all BORLA® exhaust products, each system is handmade in the USA by master craftspeople and features premium, high-quality T-304 austenitic stainless steel construction, ultra-smooth mandrel bent piping, mirror-polished tips, and a Million-Mile Warranty.

Borla warrants its products to the original purchaser, for the vehicle on which they were first installed, against defects in materials and workmanship with its Million-Mile Warranty (one million miles, or 1.6 million kilometers in Canada). Black coatings, tip finishes, carbon fiber and moving parts, including valves and actuators, are covered for one year, and EV products are covered for 2 years from purchase. The warranty applies to Borla street-legal products only: XR-1 Raceline and marine products, racing products and street products used for racing are not covered, and sound level is not a warranty issue. Also excluded are appearance blemishes from weather, road hazards, lack of maintenance or extreme heat or cold; damage from accident, abuse, misuse or modification; welding to a universal muffler’s shell or end caps (attach only at the inlet and outlet nipples); and removal or reinstallation costs. Coverage is limited to repair or replacement at Borla’s option after Borla inspects the returned part. Products sold outside the USA and Canada carry a 3-year limited warranty.
