The four 3.5'' diameter polished, or ceramic black, stainless steel tips not only give the car a more aggressive look but also feature Dinan's new ''Cool Tip'' design that effectively reduces temperatures in order to minimize radiant heat that can affect bodywork over time, as well as avoid discoloration of the tips themselves. The Cool Tips also avoid the possibility of a nasty burn while loading items in the trunk. Employing the principle of rarefaction, the design features an inner and outer tip with a vent at the base. When a positive pressure wave travels to the end of an open pipe and is ultimately expelled into the atmosphere, a rarefaction or momentary drop in the density of the surrounding air is created behind it. This momentary drop in the density of the air surrounding the pipe's exit creates a vacuum, pulling the air from the surrounding area to fill the void. The vent at the base of each outer tip then enables air to be drawn in effectively cooling the tips.
The Dinan M5 Axle-Back exhaust system provides maximum flow characteristics for optimum power gains while producing a civilized yet very sporty exhaust note that is appropriately aggressive at wide-open throttle. And there's none of that irritating low RPM ''drone'' that is common with so many aftermarket mufflers. The mufflers are manufactured from 100% 304 stainless steel inside and out for maximum resistance to corrosion and nearly a 30% reduction in weight eliminating over 20 lbs.
Utilizing the factory brackets and hangers the Dinan exhaust mounts in a factory-like fashion for a perfect fit and clean installation.

Manufacturer's Warranty — Dinan
Dinan warrants its Performance Products to be free from defects in materials and workmanship, and the term depends on the car. If the vehicle is still covered by the original manufacturer's new car limited warranty (4 years or 50,000 miles — 80,000 km in Canada — from first retail sale; US and Canadian specification vehicles only), the Dinan part is covered for the remaining term of that new car warranty, and an Authorized Dinan Dealer repairs or replaces the defective Dinan component without charge for parts or labor, including any original manufacturer component directly affected by it. If the car is out of its new car warranty, Dinan Performance Products carry a 2-year, unlimited mileage warranty from the date of original purchase; labor is reimbursed at the dealer's standard flat-rate, but repairs to affected original manufacturer components are not reimbursed. DINANTRONICS Sport, DINANTRONICS X and DINANFLASH handheld units are 1 year, unlimited mileage; refurbished products are 90 days; and racing-only parts are guaranteed against defects in workmanship only — they are not warranted against wear or failure and may affect the BMW factory and emissions warranty. Dinan's warranty is transferable when the vehicle it was installed on is sold. A lawful invoice as proof of purchase is required, and the defective part must be returned to Dinan for verification before any adjustment. Not covered: return shipping, towing and rental car charges; unauthorized modification of a Dinan part, or damage from using other manufacturers' products alongside Dinan systems; non-DCT clutch assemblies, brake rotor warp and friction materials; maintenance items such as spark plugs, filters, lubricants, fluids, coolant, drive belts and light bulbs; negligence, abuse or improper installation; engine damage from altering Dinan's original boost pressure; improper or contaminated fuel; collision damage; environmental damage, flood, fire or road-salt corrosion; and any vehicle operated in a competitive event or subjected to aggressive track conditions. The warranty is void if the VIN or odometer has been altered, if the vehicle was declared a total loss or salvage, or if it has been used in competition. Note that installing performance products may affect the vehicle manufacturer's own new car warranty. Because Dinan handles claims through an Authorized Dinan Dealer, if you bought it here, contact PitStopTuning and we'll file the claim with Dinan for you rather than approaching Dinan directly.
